David has been released from Federal custody into the general population as of April 2010. We can only hope and have faith that he has learned from his mistakes and will lead an honest and fulfilling life. Everyone wishes him the best of luck at a new life.

It’s been awhile

Interest is starting to return to this case and so I will update with what I know. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons Website, Richard D. McClanahan is presently being held at the Houston Detention Center and due out April 19, 2010. What will most likely happen is he will be allowed out into a halfway house to reintegrate into society. Prison has a way of stripping people of their appropriate social behaviors. Where and IF this will actually happen, I’m not sure.

Given the War on Drugs keeps those facilities pretty stocked, it would not surprise me.

As far as anything else – I have nothing. Please post any questions you may have and I’ll try my hardest to answer them as best I can.

The Federal Transfer Center (FTC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is an administrative facility housing male and female holdover offenders.

FTC Oklahoma is located on the western edge of Will Rogers World Airport, 3 miles west of Interstate 44 and 4 miles south of Interstate 40.

Administrative

Administrative facilities are institutions with special missions, such as the detention of pretrial offenders; the treatment of inmates with serious or chronic medical problems; or the containment of extremely dangerous, violent, or escape-prone inmates. Administrative facilities include Metropolitan Correctional Centers (MCCs), Metropolitan Detention Centers (MDCs), Federal Detention Centers (FDCs), and Federal Medical Centers (FMCs), as well as the Federal Transfer Center (FTC), the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (MCFP), and the Administrative-Maximum (ADX) U.S. Penitentiary. Administrative facilities are capable of holding inmates in all security categories.

I asked around and it’s confirmed – federal prison inmates do not have internet access!

His expected release date is 04-19-2010 – apparently there is a month off for every year of good behavior. Still, it’s better than a state charge since he probably would have only got about 5 months.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons says he’s in transit but he’s still at Randall County awaiting assignment to his new home.

Do they allow internet in prison? I found a couple links for him – one a dating site. Even though he signed his next of kin as his fiance – always interesting. “life is good” yes, yes it is!

34 months & 5 years probation each count. Suggested sentencing was 4-10 months on each charge and Judge Robinson gave him 24 mo for charge 1 and 10 months on charge 2. He was taken into custody after sentencing! Victory!

Well, since I know he won’t be there tonight…..we’re going to Dyer’s BBQ at 7:30 for some bbq & beer Everyone is welcome!!!

We’re still waiting on a sentencing date guys – hold tight. I’ll be making some phone calls to see what is going on.

I corresponded with some folks and they’ve said that the sentencing will be next week or the week after and we’ll have about a day’s notice…fun times.

As soon as I know something, I’ll get it posted and sent out.
